Welcome to the NextPharma Cold Chain and Logistics (CLS) Newsletter

In this edition of our newsletter we are delighted to tell you about the construction of our  ‘state of the art’ warehouse in Werne, Germany.

Work commenced on this exciting new venture in October 2010 and the facility is scheduled to be operational at the end of the second quarter of 2011. The ‘built-to-suit’ warehouse will be developed by Goodman, the integrated property group which owns, develops and manages business and logistics space globally.

The new facility is strategically located 3 km away from the A1 motorway in western Germany, between Münster and Dortmund. It will have 15,800m² of warehouse and 1,000m² of office space. It has the capacity to house up to 26,000 euro-pallets, starting with an initial 19,000 euro-pallets and will employ some 40 people.

Aspects of green warehousing as well as responsible use of resources will be guaranteed by modern insulation and building-equipment  (energy saving under floor heating, hot-air blowers and air conditioning). Additionally, the new facility will have modern temperature monitoring. The building, as well as meeting pharmaceutical service provider requirements, consists of  2 fire sections, 7 conventional docks, 1 jumbo dock and 1 insulated dock will have wholesaler authorization (§52a AMG) and a manufacturing license (§13 AMG) for manual re-packaging, bundling and labeling of secondary packaging.
